Job Description
The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the company's fleet of vehicles. This role ensures that all vehicles are in optimal working condition, comply with safety regulations, and are ready for use. The coordinator will work closely with drivers, mechanics, and vendors to schedule and manage maintenance activities.
Reporting Location: Poland, ME
Compensation: $33.34 / hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday; (8 hour shift)
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and schedule regular maintenance and repairs for all fleet vehicles.
Liaise with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely, quality, and cost-effective maintenance services.
Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including costs and timelines.
Ensure all fleet vehicles comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Audit and process payment of invoices for fleet services.
Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, seeking cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Respond to and manage emergency repair situations to minimize downtime.
Generate and present regular reports on fleet maintenance status and performance metrics.
Leverage Telematics, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Fleet Maintenance software to coordinate and record activities.
Coordinate Equipment and Maintenance activities of fleets based in various geographies.
Qualifications
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Additional technical training or certification in diesel maintenance is a plus
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance or a related field
Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency in vehicle maintenance and repair procedures, as well as familiarity with diagnostic tools and maintenance management software.
Experience with Class 8 Tractors, Tankers, and Dry Van trailers preferred.
Experience with SAP a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
Ability to work collaboratively with drivers, mechanics, and other team members.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with key stake holders across the organization.
