Job Description

The Lead Fleet Technician's primary responsibilities require performing preventative and corrective maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment including gas, propane, and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, forklifts, tankers, and trailers.

Reporting Location: Lakewood, NJ

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12:00pm - 8:30pm, Day Shift, Full-Time

Compensation: $36.00 + 

Sign On Bonus: $5,000.00 Split 90/180 days.

Key responsibilities 
Troubleshooting and repairing fleet vehicles and equipment
Programing and recording assigned preventative maintenance tasks
Assisting in education of the Route Sales Representatives’ pre and post-trip inspections
Receiving and processing invoices for payment for multiple locations and dealing with vendors
Maintaining parts inventory and budgets
Ensuring safe work practices Oversee Fleet Technicians and provide direction as assigned by Lead Technician
Help schedule and support all work within the shop
Coordinate training
Manage costs according to budget and daily completion of repairs
Ensure DOT compliance
Program and record assigned preventative maintenance tasks
Maintain shop housekeeping standards and prepare end of month reporting and/or any other administrative requirements

 

Qualifications

7 years technical education completed or have hands-on experience.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
Ability to handle physical requirements, including, but not limited to, repeated bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting up to 60 pounds in all work conditions (indoor and outdoor)
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
The ability to obtain CDL B (with airbrake endorsement) within specified period of time
Ability to obtain ASE T4 (airbrake) certification within specified period of time
Your own personal tools
The ability to work independently
Microsoft Office computer skills (including Excel)
