Job Description
We are currently seeking a Factory Maintenance Purchaser to report to the Factory Technical Manager in our Allentown West Factory. This is a factory based position with primary responsibilities to include timely procurement of necessary parts and equipment to support our maintenance program across multiple manufacturing sites. Maintains effective working relationships with technical and production teams across both sites while also building relationships with key external vendors. Uses the SAP system to procure MRO materials. Reviews requisitions and check against work orders and MRP for accuracy. Creates material masters and works with maintenance staff to set MRP levels. Applies MRP concepts to inventory. Maintains SAP purchasing data. Communicates regularly with vendors to procure correct material in a timely and efficient manner.
Pay Range: $70,553 - $79,469. This role is eligible for an annual bonus.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Assures adherence to using corporate contracted suppliers.
• Understands and applies proper codification to materials.
• Understands and applies MRP concepts for stocked material.
• Contacts vendors to assure material specification, price, and sourcing information are correct.
• Analyzes material requirements for both stocked and direct purchase inventory.
• Communicates with Factory StoreKeepers/Technical Leads to assure appropriate application and delivery of MRO purchases.
• Processes Requisitions to create purchase orders for release.
• Communicates orders to vendors.
• Reviews open purchase orders and follows up with vendors if necessary.
• Works with accounts payable to resolve invoicing and pricing variances.
• Processes new material requests and maintains material masters.
• Reviews all requisitions for accuracy.
• Maintains PIR's and Source lists for materials.
• Submits new vendor requests.
• Identifies vendor numbers and possible extensions cross factory.
• Attends and participates in national peer group conference calls.
• Reviews, understands, and applies all required corporate policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Key qualifications include:
• High-School Diploma or GED – Preferred Certification in Industrial Maintenance or Project Management.
• Minimum of 5 Years hands-on in the field experience in maintenance planning or project management.
• Travel up to 25%
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical parts manuals, catalogues, SOP’s.
• Experience across several business functions with fully developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintenance and technical lead experience within highspeed packaging, ideally beverage, food or other clean manufacturing.
• Proven track record in delivering results through others by working with cross-functional teams.
• Awareness of Continuous Improvement methodologies. (LEAN, DMAIC, 5why, BDA, TPM).
• Advanced hands-on working knowledge of AMM / CMMS systems (SAP Required).
• Must be able to lead and facilitate meetings with large groups both in person and virtually.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS).
• Must be able to complete complex data analysis and communicate in Lehman’s terms.
• Self-motivated and able to manage time independently.
